Summary: After all this time...



Lois Lane was finishing her last article about the city counselor been involved with key people from Intergang which was going to be a shock to any Metropolis citizen but for her was more than that. Perry her editor in chief smiled at her and hugged her, an action very odd from his part because Perry the Bulldog White never hugged.

Her  sometimes partner in 'crime' sat in front of her in the desk that months ago Perry assigned to him. His muscular frame that one time ago was a sign of admiration now was anything but that. He had change a lot trough time and thanks to their time apart, her at Met U. and him traveling around the world she had learned one more time to build a stronger and almost indestructible wall around her heart.

The last time she opened her heart to him in the campus of her senior year, she's over the effects of  meteors rocks love potion and declared her love to him at his barn. To make things worse and to her public humiliation she walked around Smallville High with the skimpy and trashy cheerleader uniform. That unfaithful afternoon, he not only broke her heart, he also stomp all over it as if she didn't existed. He chose Lana Lang over her one more time and it was then she swore to herself that Clark Kent wouldn't break her again.

However twelve years later, her all being felt the excitement and the intensity of seen him again. When he shook her hand she felt her body compelled to his, and that scared her so much. So she hided behind her tough snarkyness that she got better and better over the years.

She looked at him with her ever sarcastic smile "Well i finished, I'm going to give this to Perry and then I'm so gone. I need to rest" he gave her a sweet smile, a smile that almost made her jump in his arms "You resting? now, that's a challenge" she narrowed her eyes and replied "Don't temp me".

Lois walked to her boss's office and gave him her article,  once again Perry congratulate her and send her home. She found herself outside again and walking slowly to her desk, which was occupied  by a very big ex- farmboy "What, Kent!" Clark adjusted his glasses and said "Uh... Chl...Lois i wanted to invite you to um... dinner and celebrate for your article" his voice sounded suddenly really shy.

Lois wanted to accept his invitation but she promised herself since the moment he touch her hand after all those years that if he was going to pursue her, he'll have to work for it. "Sorry Kent not tonight maybe some day. Why don't you invite Cat she was looking at you over and over. With her you'll sure have much more luck and you could even get laid" his eyes widened and his cheeks got flushed "Lois!".

She rolled her eyes at him grabbed her purse but when she was going to grab her coat, he beat her to it. He offered to help her with it and she felt his hands and his body closer to her. His perfume surrounded her for a second but she refused to be weak, "Thanks Kent, see you tomorrow early. If you don't get laid". He responded by rolling his eyes at her as she walked away from him, sensing all the electricity around her body, sensing his intense look on her and her mind repeated over and over to her devoted heart 'he has to work for it'
